What began a vision, our founder, Ms. Liin Hassan, grew into a thriving business rooted in quality, trust, and resilience. After years of experience with leading trading companies, she established Liin Hassan General Trading L.L.C. in Dubai in 2008. From that foundation, the company expanded across continents, building strong relationships with both suppliers and customers worldwide.

Our core business has long focused on essential food commodities such as sesame seeds, rice, and edible oils. We source from some of the world’s most reliable suppliers in India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Egypt, and across Asia and Africa. Every product we handle is carefully selected to meet the highest quality standards, allowing us to deliver not only value but also consistency to the communities we serve.

With Somalia as one of our key markets, we play a vital role in ensuring that staple foods remain accessible and affordable. Our commitment is simple: to bring quality goods at fair prices, strengthening food security while maintaining ethical and transparent practices.

A New Chapter for Somalia

In 2025, Liin Hassan Group entered a historic new era. We signed a landmark agreement with Momin Oil Factory—a global player with operations in the UAE, Malaysia, and Afghanistan—to establish Mogadishu’s first-ever palm oil refining plant.

This pioneering project is more than an investment in food processing, it is an investment in Somalia’s future. The plant will:

  • Boost local production capacity of a critical food staple.

  • Reduce import costs and make palm oil more affordable for Somali families.

  • Create new jobs and expand technical expertise in the local workforce.

  • Strengthen Somalia’s food security by building a sustainable, homegrown supply chain.
